The history of Cotignac
includes the story that Louis IV was conceived after Louis XIII and Anne of Austria made their supplications at the Chapel de Notre-Dame-des-Graces in Cotignac in 1638.
The open-air theatre at the base of the cliffs has concerts during the summer. There is a small museum. (There is also a good museum for the area at Draguignan; it shows the importance of the silk industry as a major past employer.)The village is bordered on the western side by extensive forests.

LA MAISON, is a 350-year-old four-storey village house, at the heart of the village near the church, just one minutes walk from the centre , with views of the spectacular roche and our small but beautifull garden with its grand fig tree.due to its location the house is a haven of peace and tranquility. My family and i have been her for 9 years since
arriving from the UK, and my son, Dylan now 17 spent 3 very happy years at the local school.The house is available to rent on a weekly, monthly basis,or if you have small children and want to put them in the village school for a year or two, we could explore the possibility of a longer lease. The house comes fully furnished and equiped as per the photographs on this site.We love this house,and so will you.We think Cotignac is the most beautifull village in FRANCE and I know it will cast its spell on you
